The Philippine idol group, MNL48, brought the warmest of yuletide season as they inspired and motivated the students of Tuloy Foundation at the J-Melody Concert last December 11, 2019 at Don Bosco School Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

MNL48 – Gabb, Yssa, Belle, Jamie, Cole, Sheki, Abby, Sela, Aly and Dian – performed ‘Aitakatta – Gustong Makita’, their fifth single ‘High Tension’ with its coupling song ‘Green Flash’ and AKB48’s ‘Koisuru Fortune Cookie’.

J-Melody Concert – hosted by the Japan Embassy – an event held to promote J-Culture in the Philippines and in partnership with Tuloy Foundation – a program that has 250 residents, which consists of street children who were abandoned, neglected and abused and non residents which means children who have their families but cannot support them financially for education, has a mission to foster and provide them quality education – to inspire and encourage street children to dream high and strive harder achieving their goals in life including the arts of performances.

Aside from MNL48, other guest performer includes the Shamisen player, a Japanese traditional instrument, Mr Keisho Ohno as he taught the students of the history and technicalities of Shamisen and hyped up the crowd performing traditional Japanese music like ‘Tsugaru Jongara Shinbushi’, ‘Tsugaru Aiya Bushi’ ‘Tsugaru Tanto Bushi’ and modern music like ‘Sakura Fubuki’ ‘007: James Bond’s theme’ ‘Seiya’ and more.

As a person who dreams high and strive harder reaching her goals, MNL48 Sheki shared what motivated her entering the world of MNL48, “What motivated me to enter MNL48 are my dreams; I really wanted to showcase my talent and be part of something that has a purpose and that is to inspire people to achieve their dreams in life. Being part of MNL48 is not just being part of a girl group but being in a family that makes you grow more as a person. This taught me to strive hard and work hard because we became as a medium for youth and other people, for them to do good and be the best version of themselves.”

J-Melody Concert was just one of MNL48’s exciting events this December as the group will end 2019 with series of events including their first ever Theater Performance ‘Party Ga Hajimaru Yo’ with Team L on December 17, 2019 at Movie Stars Cafe and their ‘High Tension’ mall show at Fisher Mall, Malabon on December 13, 2019.
