Promise daw niya sakin na bibigyan niya ako ng diploma kaya nagsisikap siya, pinagsasabay niya ‘yung MNL48 and studies niya. Gustong gusto kasi talaga niya maging idol, dream niya ‘yun e. You are so loved, napakabuti mong anak and I’m very proud. Happy birthday, wishing you all the best, I love you anak.”
Marilou Labay also shared how much they miss their daughter MNL48 Cess who always brings joy at home. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon dahil binigyan ako ng isang anak na very talented, at mapagmahal. Bigger turnout for Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie Handshake Event Day 2

Second day of the MNL48’s “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” Handshake Event did not disappoint as more fans joined the group at Centris Elements on March 17, 2019.
MNL48 fans, also called MNLoves, had another chance to interact and shake hands with their Oshi for as long as 10 seconds, and watch the idol group perform their hit tracks “Palusot Ko’y Maybe”, “First Rabbit”, “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie”, and “Manila48”.
Grateful for all their fans’ support for their second Handshake Event, Quincy thanked the MNLoves. “To be the first batch of members to hold your hands, it’s been an honor. Gusto po naming magpasalamat sa lahat ng pumunta sa Handshake Event namin simula first day hanggang ngayong last day. On behalf of all the members of first generation, no matter what happens we will always be together. Maraming salamat po!”
Rans also agreed with Quincy and appreciated the fans lining up for each of the MNL48 member, “maraming salamat po sa lahat ng pumila sa amin, at suportahan niyo po kami sa Second General Election. Kita-kita po tayo sa next event,” she claimed.
An avid MNL48 fan shared her special and memorable interaction with each MNL48 member during the event. “With this one, since you get to handshake each of them individually, it gets more special po because you get to have this one on one interaction with your oshi. It’s very special,” Alex Arquiza shared, attending the group’s handshake event for the second time.
As the “Idols you can meet” concept is being established here in the Philippines, she also expressed how these handshake events have helped her create a friendship with her kami-oshi, Faith. “Yung pinaka-main reason why [siya ang kami-oshi ko is] because the bond that I have created with her over the past, kasi I regularly attend events when I can, pag palagi ko siya nakikita we always talk na in a way parang nagde-develop na siya ng friendship parang ganon po, except that it’s an idol and fan relationship. Naka-create na kami ng ganoong bond so walang point for me to just switch oshi, siya na talaga kami-oshi ko.”

“For now kasi ginawa na nilang 10 seconds, mas matagal compared sa first time na five seconds. Mas matagal tong PFC Handshake so ang haba nung time na nakausap ko ‘yung Oshi ko which is sobrang saya at nakaka-overwhelmed” he added.
Meanwhile MNL48 Necca expressed her gratitude to everyone who joined them today. “Thank you so much po MNLoves, specially to those people na nakipag-handshake sa bawat isa saamin. MNL48 to hold the first idol concert in the Philippines

Philippines’ idol group MNL48 will stage their first ever major concert on April 6, 2019 at the New Frontier Theater
During the press conference held today, March 6, 2019 at Movie Stars Café, MNL48 Sheki, Abby, Sela, Rans, Coleen, Brei, Belle, Gabb, Ella, Jan, Dian, Kay, Coleen, Jem, Lei, Mari, and Alyssa expressed their happiness that a lot of fans are eager to get the best seats in the theater to watch them perform in their biggest concert.
“To be honest, we are beyond grateful and happy dahil sa mga fans namin and excited to show other countries and Filipinos na ito ‘yung talentong Pilipino,” Dian said in the press conference.

It was in the group’s official social media pages last February 1, that the “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” idols revealed that they will finally be holding their first concert since their breakthrough in 2018 which will be entitled “Living the Dream: The Concert”.
The show will also be the first idol concert in the country and thousands of fans are expected to join the JPOP-inspired concert to be directed by Direk GB Sampedro.
“Since this is their first major concert, expect them to do other things. They’ll be launching new number, new costume, and new songs; expect everyone to have fun. I find it exciting kasi iba siya sa ginagawa natin dito sa Pilipinas, para akong nag di-direct ng international concert,” Direk Sampedro explained how the concert will be different from the usual MNL48 events.

The international sister group of Japan’s AKB48, who has been wowing fans not just in the Philippines but across Asia with their talent, music, and performances, will showcase their growth as an artist and group as they will perform their hit singles like “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita”, “Talulot Ng Sakura, “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” and more in an all-out production at a grander stage.
Moreover, the concert is MNL48 First Generation’s gift to their supportive fans, dubbed as MNLoves, who’s been with the group since day one.
MNL48 Center Girl Sheki expressed her happiness that their dreams are finally coming true. “Super excited po kaming lahat kasi dati pinapangarap lang po namin na makapag-conert in front of many people. Sobrang special po siya kasi buong First Generation po ang magpe-perform ng sama-sama with our MNLoves, kaya sobrang thankful po kami na magkakaroon kami ng ganitong event.”
Sheki further narrated how much preparations they are going through for the upcoming concert. “Ipapakita namin na may ibubuga ang MNL48 sa music and idol industry para rin makapag-leave kami ng mark sa araw na ‘yun na hinding-hindi nila makakalimutan.”

Abby also explained how their performance in the recent AKB48 Group Asia Festival held in Bangkok helped them prepare in their upcoming concert. “Sobrang laki ng natulong sakin ‘nung concert sa Bangkok, sobrang daming ideas and lakas ng loob as an idol ‘yung nakuha ko doon, and mas na-inspire ako na makapagbigay saya sa ibang tao. Mas na-boost din po ‘yung confidence ko, na-realize ko na being an idol is about giving all your heart na walang takot na maipakita kung sino ka and malabas ‘yung best sayo.”
"Also, we did our best to perform in front of Thai people and other nationalities, what more pa this major concert namin na magpe-perform po kami in front of you," Jem added.

Team Captain Alice said that they added more effort in their rehearsals because of MNL48’s Asia Festival experience.

Joining the members and Direk GB Sampedro during the press conference was MNL48’s Producer Mr. Paulo Kurosawa who strongly believes that the girls are ready for the much-awaited concert.

MNL48 is composed of 48 talented young girls, ages 15 to 20 years old lead by Senbatsu members (Top 16): Center girl Sheki, Abby, Sela, Brei, Belle, Rans, Coleen, Gabb, Jem, Lei, Mari, Jan, Kay, Alyssa, Faith, and Ella. The all-girl group first broke into the scene after being formed through a nationwide search televised on ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime”.

After their debut, MNL48 released their first single “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita” under Star Music which ranked on the No.1 spot on iTunes Top Albums upon its release and entered popular music charts like Myx Daily Top 10 Pinoy, Pop Charts PH, and Pinoy Myx Countdown. The group followed it up with their second smashing single “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” that earned MNL48 their first Gold and Platinum awards from Star Music and the Philippine Association of Record Industries.
In addition, the group also received Pinoy POP (PPOP) Awards for young artists’ year-end special award, “Youth Model of the Year – Huwaran ng Kabataan Award” last 2018 to recognize their influence for being a good role model to the young generation in uplifting the Filipino talents and showcasing the Filipino culture through their music and performance.
